What this project was about
On a sunny day, Bruno sets out for a meditation class. He meets the eccentric Danny and gets swept into his wild birthday party. With Danny and Franzi the teddy bear, Bruno stumbles through a chain of chaotic, funny, and unexpected moments he will not forget.
Instant36 gives you 36 hours to make a short film from scratch. On Saturday at 10 a.m. the festival drops a theme and a required object. Our theme was “Ohne Schatten, Keine Sonne.” The object was a teddy bear. We leaned into the weird and made the teddy a character with emotional weight as Danny’s lover. That choice gave us some comedic moments!
Our film premiered as part of the festival screening in Salzburg. We did not take an award, but seeing it on the big screen with the other films felt like a win after the sprint.
